Bottle Opener Part II

Just a heads up. I got to print my own bottle opener today! I am pretty comfertable with the printer now. I had to remake the design in solid works because I couldn't find my copy of the original solid works file (it was on my partner's desktop not mine). But it was good practice. I'm getting pretty solid in working with solid works (wow that's a bad pun!).

So here is a copy of Captain Kirk IV (notice he's a bit larger as I was estimating with the dimensions!).
Also because Lyn and I were in a bit of a hurry, we used the thinner plastic (1/8 in). This was about half the thickness of the original bottle opener pictured to the left with a piece of tape. However, it worked just fine! Goes to show that our original concept was structurally sound! I had fun with the filing down of the edge too. All in all, a good way to make sure I had the original project down.
